QWICK HITZ - American Idol Shocker!!!, Prince Harry Stays Home, We'll Miss King of Queens!, Paris Breaking Out Early?, Beyonce Runs BET, Provoked

Yesterday was probably one of the more shocking episodes of American Idol this season. Melinda Doolittle was sent packing, which made everyone gasp as she was arguably the best left between Blake Lewis, Jordin Sparks, and herself. Ryan stepped up to announce the winners and let Jordin off the hook first by telling her she would return for next week. That wasn't such a surprise as many had expected it to be an all girl final. Finally Blake was chosen to stay instead of Melinda. You could hear some boos from the crowd, and even Simon looked dissapointed in the results! Now the 29 year old backup singer will join the rest of selected castoffs on the American Idol tour, and the odds are that Jordin should have this competition all wrapped up!

So it seems that Prince Harry won't be joining his brothers-in-arms on a mission to Iraq after all. The British Army confirmed that the prince was not going and gave a couple of reasons for the change of mind. The Army said that there would be a higher threat not only to the Prince, but those around him as well. They also claimed that media coverage had hindered security efforts, and that the young heir to the throne would be a magnet for the insurgents. Prince Harry is an officially trained troop commander, and was ready to go over and join the war in Iraq.

The CBS hit comedy show "King of Queens" came to an end this week, and featured a double episode. For any of y'all that missed the series finale can watch an encore presentation next Thursday on CBS. The series which stars Kevin James and Leah Remini came into existence in 1998. It's nine year run makes it the longest running sitcom on TV, and really the last comedy from the Seinfeld-Everybody Loves Raymond era. It was one of the few sitcoms that existed on TV in the new aged world of reality shows.

Paris Hilton will not have to serve her full 45 day sentence in an LA jail. It's seems the celebutante will only need to serve approximately 23 days in a special needs unit. This unit will isolate her from the general population in the jail. She will serve time in a 2 person unit usually reserved for "high-profile" inmates according to a report from TMZ.com. She is going to be given at least an hour a day to shower, watch TV, and use the telephone. Does anyone really feel sorry for Paris???

The 2007 BET Awards is coming, and the nominees were announced yesterday. Beyonce leads the pack with six nominations. Others who have multiple nominations include Jennifer Hudson, Diara, Robin Thicke, and Diddy to name a few. Performances for the night will be provided by T.I. and 50 Cent. There will also be a special BET Lifetime Achievement honour bestowed upon the legendary Diana Ross, and Don Cheadle will be given the BET Humanitatian Award for his work on various humanitarian efforts. The BET Awards will air live on June 26 from the Shrine Auditorium in LA, and the event will be hosted by non other than Mo'Nique.

And as usual, being the movie buffs that we are, we have attached the trailer to a new movie coming called Provoked: A True Story. The movie is based on a true story of a woman's struggle with domestic violence and the aftermath when she murders her abuser. The lead role is played by the beautiful Ashwarya Rai, and the mean abuser is played by Lost's Naveen Andrews. The movie was actually finished in 2006, but was waiting for this year's Cannes Film Festival to debut the actual film. Well wait no longer, if you haven't seen the trailer here it is!
