Surprised was an understatement on this week's episode of The Biggest Loser. One of the contestant's, Joe, decided to up and leave the popular weight loss reality show. Joe Messina, 38, joined the show along with his brother Mike. Mike was ousted last week after his team decided his condescending attitude to others became enough of a distraction to others. The irony was that Mike said his attitude was mostly because he was lonely on the show and had even started losing connection with his brother Joe. When Joe decided to leave the show, his trainer Bob called him to find out why. Joe said that he missed his 2 kids and wife, and it got to him to the point where he had to leave the show. Bob, along with others, were quite disappointed to see Joe leave as there were tons of other people who wanted to be a part of the show. Oh, let's not forget to mention that with Joe leaving he also left his team with one less point to work with. The sad part is that Mike had lost 23 lbs up to that point! Biggest Loser seems quite appropriate for several reasons in this case...
Are they or aren't they? That's the question when it comes to the relationship status between Hollywood uber-Star Johnny Depp and his girlfriend of 14 years, French actress Vanessa Paradis. The couple at one time lived the quiet life in the sleepy French hamlet of Plan-de-la-Tour. Since then it's become a lot more LA than France, and here is where the rumoured split started. Seems as if Vanessa stays at home with the kids (Lily-Rose, 12, and Jack, 9), while Depp goes off and makes movies all around the world. The word is although the two are based out of LA, they actually live seperately. To add more speculation, Vanessa skipped out on a premiere event in Paris for Johnny's film The Rum Diary. Rumours are that she chose to go to a concert instead! She was also absent from the Cannes Film Festival in May where Depp was spotlighting his 4th installment of the Pirates franchise. And most recently more fuel was added to the fire when Depp arrived at the Golden Globes sans Vanessa. You can get more in-depth info in the most recent issue of People Magazine.
Some people are claiming that Contraband star Mark Wahlberg may have been out of line with some recent comments he made concerning 9/11. In a recent interview with Men's Journal, Mark made some statements about what he would do if he were on one of the planes that were hijacked. Mark was asked, for the February issue, of what he would do if he were scheduled on one of the planes that crashed into the World Trade Center. “If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.’” As you can imagine, there was a backlash against his statement from the public after the his comments made all of the celebrity websites and blogs. TMZ spoke with Deena Burnett-Bailey -- whose husband Thomas Burnett was on one of those flights. She chimed in saying "The plan for Flight 93 was foiled by heroes. For him to speculate that his presence on board could have stopped everything is silly and disrespectful. Sounds like someone is grandstanding." No word from Wahlberg or his camp on this story...yet.
